Richmond, Berea, and Beyond: Bringing the MC Homes Design-Build Approach to Central Kentucky

For more than 15 years, MC Homes has helped homeowners throughout Western Kentucky turn ideas, inspiration, and individual needs into thoughtfully designed custom homes. Now, we’re excited to bring that same collaborative design-build approach to Richmond, Berea, and communities throughout Central Kentucky, including Madison and Jessamine Counties.

For us, expanding into a new area isn’t about changing the way we build. It’s an opportunity to introduce more homeowners to the design-build process we’ve spent years refining.

Bringing Design and Construction Together

Building a custom home comes with hundreds of decisions. Some are exciting, like choosing materials, planning a kitchen, or imagining the view from your future living room. Others involve budgets, timelines, site conditions, and construction details that most homeowners don’t encounter every day. And to be quite honest, those are often the decisions that cause the most headaches, which is exactly when having a trusted partner can make all the difference.

Our design-build approach brings those conversations together from the beginning.

Rather than treating design and construction as two separate processes, our in-house team considers your lifestyle, property, priorities, and budget together from the start. Architectural drafting lets you actually see those ideas take shape before we build, while constant communication between design and construction keeps the vision grounded in reality.

It’s the same process whether we’re designing a lake house in Western Kentucky or beginning a custom home in Central Kentucky.

Why Central Kentucky?

Richmond and Berea offer something particularly appealing to custom homebuyers: options.

Homeowners can find established neighborhoods, growing residential developments, rural acreage, wooded properties, and land with room to spread out. That variety creates opportunities for homes that respond to both the property and the people who will live there.

Our team has spent plenty of time exploring Kentucky over the years (mostly for leisure), so the appeal of Central Kentucky certainly isn’t new to us. From rolling acreage and wooded properties to established neighborhoods, there are plenty of settings here that get our design wheels turning. And after years of adapting our work to everything from historic subdivisions to lakefront properties in Western Kentucky, we’re excited to bring that experience to homeowners in Madison, Jessamine, and the surrounding counties.

We understand the home that works beautifully on a neighborhood lot may look very different from one designed for rolling acreage or a wooded homesite. Topography, views, natural light, driveway access, utilities, and outdoor living can (and should) influence the design long before construction begins. Our portfolio includes homes influenced by a wide range of architectural styles, materials, and settings, but we’ve never believed a custom home should begin with a predetermined look.
