Where To Begin When Building A Custom Home

When planning your custom home build, most homeowners find themselves facing a simple question: “Where do I begin?”

The process can be long and the decisions are plenty. Considering the entire project scope usually leads people to the same logical conclusion: it’s a complicated process that can be overwhelming.

The MC Homes team is experienced in navigating the new-build process, and we’re here to help you.

When you choose MC Homes as your custom home builder, we’ll alleviate your concerns from the beginning. Just provide information about yourselves, your desires, and your style, and we’ll handle the rest.

Step One: Let's Talk.

Call us or fill out the form below to start a conversation. The only thing you need to know for sure is your desire to build your dream home, where, and who will be living in, staying in, or occasionally visiting it.

We’ll also need to know your budget for this project.

This initial meeting helps us define the scope of your project, including the timeline and budget for your build, and the design and function of your dream home.

Step Three: We Collaborate

We collaborate

We’ll start the collaboration process with our design team, where you’ll share your visions for your dream home. Typically, we ask clients to create a Pinterest board, Houzz account, or any other option where you can pool your inspirations in one location.

Examples can be specific, like the picture of a room you like styled a certain way, or it could be as simple as a simple accessory you want in a particular room. The more examples you have, the better idea our design team will get of your style.

Step Four: Design Presentation

After defining your project’s scope and collecting your style inspiration, we’ll organize a team meeting. You’ll meet your design-build team: your contractor, project manager, draftsperson, and interior designer to discuss and advance your plan.

In this step, we’ll show you the mockups, floor plan and details for how your future luxury dream home will look and flow.

Step Five: Let The Fun Begin

After you’re confident in your design, budget, and timeline decisions, we’ll put your plan in motion. We’ll finalize your budget and submit the necessary documentation for your review and approval.

Once approved, the fun begins! We’ll start on your custom home and you’ll get your project contacts.

You’ll also be an essential part of this process. We want our customers informed on their home builds’ progress, and we’ll work together to navigate hurdles. (No project goes exactly as planned!)
