The Huyck house is the perfect example of how our design team can work with homeowners who want something unique and aren’t afraid to be adventurous and buck trends.

David and Mandee Huyck came to us with a foundation and a floor plan (and a soap dispenser), as well as a willingness to trust our direction.

Mandee had a lot of great design ideas for different spaces in her home, but when it came to the decision making and implementation, felt overwhelmed by the complexity of it. She met with Heather and Emily and together they worked to flesh out her ideas in ways that could achieve the aesthetic they were after while working within their budget.

Mandee jokes that the entire home was built around the powder room’s soap dispenser, and it’s not too far from the truth. Something as simple as an accessory like Mandee’s “must-have” is often all we need to jumpstart the design process.

From there, we worked with them through each phase of the design process, pitching concepts that were met with enthusiasm.

The end result is hands down one of the most unique spaces we’ve ever created. There are several custom elements to this home that were crafted by our team and ended up being more cost-effective than outright buying which allowed us to focus budget elsewhere and check nearly everything off of the Huyck’s wishlist while not going wildly over budget.

We hope you enjoy looking at this home half as much as we enjoyed building it.
